Develop A Winning Mindset - Reinvent Your Mind
By Henrietta Elegunde
A mindset consists of a person's frame of reference, which
includes a person's knowledge, experience, goals, values,
beliefs and attitudes. No two people can have exactly the same
frame of reference. Our frames of reference affect our way of
thinking, and the way we see life. Someone can have a mindset
that is so strong on a particular issue, to the extent of being
blind to seeing other perspectives.
Even though a mindset feels like an honest expression or the
truth, it is really just a point-of-view. Mindset is the filter
we see and feel the world through. Our mindsets reflect where we
have been, and what we have seen and heard, but not necessarily
who God made us to be. If we have had bad experiences, our
mindset could be getting in the way of our success. Just because
we have failed before doesn't mean we are a failure.
Every high achiever has failed at something before. And they
don't have two head. If they can do it, so can we! Mariah Carey
was rubbish at being waitress; she was fired many times until
she found out what she was good at. She already had it, but she
had to find it. There is something you have, that is of value to
other people. You just need to find. They key is in your
strengths, passion, concerns and interests.
Our mindset is who we have become. Just because we didn't
succeed in the past, doesn't mean we will fail again. However,
if we start to see ourselves as failure, we will definitely
become a failure. God has a good plan and future for us, but
negative mindset can get in the way of it manifesting: Jeremiah
29:11 "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD,
plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope
and a future. (NIV)"
We have to start seeing ourselves the way God sees us. And start
declaring this as our portion in life. So that it will manifest:
Job 22:28 - "You will also declare a thing, And it will be
established for you; So light will shine on your ways.
Every high achiever has failed at something once. Just because
we have failed at something, doesn't mean we will fail again. It
doesn't prove that we are a failure in life. Everything that we
see in the physically, was first created as thought in someone's
mind, before manifesting. We can have whatever we can believe
God for.
We can change our mindset, and reinvent ourselves anytime we
want. By choosing to see things in a different way, and
stretching our limits. We will never achieve what we can't
conceive in our mind first. We have to first believe that
something is a possibility, before we can have access to it.
Otherwise it is out of our reach: Mark 11:24 "Therefore I say to
you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you
receive them, and you will have them."
Key Steps to Developing a Winning Mindset:
We must see our trials as stepping stones.
We must create victory in our lives, by speaking to every
mountain and stronghold, in the name of Jesus: Mark 11:23 "For
assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, 'Be
removed and be cast into the sea,' and does not doubt in his
heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he
will have whatever he says."
We are free to choose our focus.
We must only focus on positive things. We always invite into our
lives whatever we focus on: Philippians 4:8 "Finally, brethren,
whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever
things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are
lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any
virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy meditate on these
things."
We must turn our problems into our prayer points.
We must surround ourselves with people that encourage us, and
not those who to pull us down: Psalm 1:1 "Blessed is the man Who
walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, Nor stands in the path
of sinners, Nor sits in the seat of the scornful;
Problems are challenges that we can turn into stepping stones,
with God's wisdom and help. We must start to view our challenges
as our stepping stones to success and victory. There can be no
growth without challenges: Romans 8:28 - "And we know that all
things work together for good to those who love God, to those
who are the called according to His purpose."
We must act, think and speak as if our challenges are already
solved. We must focus on the problem solver, and not the
problem. Focusing on problems make people feel defeated: 2
Corinthians 5:7 - "For we walk by faith, not by sight."
