Stress Free Online Christian Gift Giving
By Angie Lewis

Is
there any better way to shop for Christian gifts then from the
comfort and privacy of your own home? I don’t think there is.
With gas prices the way they are, you’re surely to save a bundle
just because you didn’t drive around from store to store. Let’s
leave all that noisy congestion and traffic behind? Finding that
perfect gift can be as stress free as sitting in front of the
television and enjoying your favorite show. Let’s go shopping!
With online shopping you can sit in front of your computer and
enjoy choosing a beautiful unique gift without all the hustle
and bustle of being in a hurry. Forget about those long lines,
find something you like, click the “buy” button and its bought.
With online Christian gift shopping there is no sales person
watching your every move trying to sell you every single item
you touch. Many online stores now offer free shipping or very
little shipping costs when the order is over a certain amount.
Last year I took the stress out of holiday shopping and did most
of it online. Not only did I save money by shopping online, but
also I was able to browse more items to get that special gift
for everyone on my Christmas list. For my son’s birthdays, I now
like to shop online too. Shopping all day from store to store
can be stressful and daunting. Not only that, but by the time I
get home I don’t feel like cooking dinner for my family – I’m
just too tired!
It doesn’t have to be an unpleasant task to shop for gifts this
year. Before you go out and tackle the world of department
stores, relax, take a deep breath, and tell yourself, “I will
not be in a hurry this year. I will begin my holiday shopping in
July and right online from the comfort of my own home. And if I
want to shop for gifts with my pajamas on, I will.” This year,
take the stress out of shopping and get it done online.
Now, just because you were smart and did your shopping online,
does not mean you can’t go shopping with your friends. In fact,
you can help them shop – bring them over to your house and show
them what unique Christian gifts you purchased this year.
The other reason I like to shop online is I can call my husband
over to my computer and get his thoughts on a gift idea for
someone on his side of the family. My husband won’t go shopping
with me and this works great for me. Last year online I picked
out a beautiful gold embossed plate for my in-laws, and before
buying it I got his opinion on this gift that I chose for his
mother and fathers 40th wedding anniversary. Online shopping is
awesome.
Do you have a special friend who is just too hard to shop for?
Well, you’re not alone. Many people are difficult to shop for
because either they have everything already or are such an
exceptional friend that we don’t want to buy just any old thing
– it has to be special! So what makes a gift special? What makes
a gift special is in the creativity of the gift. Can they find
the same thing in other stores? Handcrafted gifts are very
distinctive and usually made well, and are much more appreciated
by the Christian receiver than anything they can just go pick up
at any department store.
I have filled you with the Spirit of God,
with skill, ability and knowledge in all kinds of crafts.
Exodus 31:3
Remember when buying gifts for your Christian friends and
family, the real gifts are those that do not cost anything but
your time and service. The gift of love can always be cherished
for years and years to come. Give love! The gift of your
forgiveness will give someone the contentment they need to be at
peace in their heart. And no better gift is there than that of
bringing joy into the life of someone who is lonely, depressed,
sick, or bedridden. You are a gift to others.
Every good and perfect gift is from above,
coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not
change
like shifting shadows.
James 1:17
