Unlock Your Full Potential For Success
By Henrietta Elegunde
"Success is a process, not an event," "a journey, not a
destination." - Zig Ziglar
In order to become successful, you have to develop a successful
way of thinking (mindset), and redefine your life. Every
successful achievement started in someone's mind. Macy's was
once in someone's mind. Microsoft Windows was once in Bill
Gates' mind. What you've achieved so far does not define your
ability, but it defines the way you think about your ability.
Change your thinking - change your success level - change your
life!
If you do things exactly the same way you always have, then your
life will remain exactly as it now or get worse! Can you really
afford that? If your life remains the same, what benefits would
you miss out on? What would remain in your life that you don't
want? Write them down, and paste them on your wall to motivate
you to get started, on the road to success.
If you didn't know it, let me tell you, success hardly happen by
chance. There are keys to becoming successful in life. The
sooner you learn to apply these keys, the faster you will be
established on that journey to becoming a successful person.
Everyday you will have a few opportunities that you can grab.
Whether you grab it or not depend on you. Most of these
opportunities will require some sort of change. Every
transformation requires a change. Be open to change, in order to
change your life.
If you're trying to pursue success, you will never find it.
Success is not something you pursue; success is something you
start creating from inside out. If you're serious about becoming
successful, it is time to turn this fantasy into a dream. A
dream is something to work on, in order to achieve, while a
fantasy is just a wish. It's time to back your dream with
positive actions.
We are all destined for greatness. We can move from acceptable
to abundance. It is not God's plan for us to just be getting by
from paycheck to paycheck. God wants us to achieve exceptional
success. It is possible to achieve some sort of success without
God. However, we can only achieve true success, which comes with
fulfillment, through Christ: John 10:10b - " I have come that
they may have life, and have it to the full."
We must also do our own part. We must sow our effort as seed
onto God, and combine it with faith, in order to manifest our
abundance. God is able to give us a big harvest from our seed,
if we are faithful: Ephesians 3:20 - " Now to Him who is able to
do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think,
according to the power that works in us," (NKJV)
Keys To Unlocking Your Potentials
For Success
Self Motivation: Motivation gets you out of bed, so that you can
work on your success. Without motivation, you just can't be
bothered. While it is good to enlist your loved ones to motivate
you. No one can motivate you like your self. Here are some self
motivation tips:
Identify your dreams and break them into goals and write them
down as to-do list. To-do list is a list tasks you're
going to
do towards achieving your dream.
Write down how your life will change if you achieved your goals,
and stick this list where you will see it everyday.
Pray to God to empower you to achieve your goals.
Time Management: Time that is spent cannot be regained again.
You cannot go back to being sweet sixteen, no matter how much
you try. Maximize your time by:
Identify and eliminate all activities leaking your energy. You
need to focus all your energy on your priorities, if
you are
going to be successful.
Identify and eliminate all time wasters in your life. This can
be people, bad habits or life issues.
Scheduling: This is looking at the time available to you, and
planning ahead how you will use it to achieve your goals.
Planning ahead will also minimize stress procrastination and
confusion.
Action Plan: This is creating list of all the tasks that you
need to carry out, in order to remind and motivate yourself. So
that you achieve a goal. Action plan is different from a to-do
list in that it focuses on the achieving a single goal.
Powerful focus: The one of the main reasons why people don't
maximize their potential is lack of focus. Ability to focus on
priority needs discipline. Life is full of distractions. There
are enough people and issues that want to steal your peace, joy,
freedom and your attention. You cannot afford to give these
away, because you need all these to energies to become
successful. You also need passion. Passion is not to be confused
with obsession. Passion is healthy interest that you can take a
rest from anytime you like. Obsession is an unhealthy compulsion
that you have no control of, and you can't stop. To be a success
you need to focus on your passion. Your passion is a clue to
your life purpose. Your strengths compliment your life purpose.
You also need focus to learn and excel in anything. If focus
doesn't come easy to you or you don't have passion for anything.
Think back to when you had passion in your life. What did you
used to enjoy? Also pray that God help you find your passion
again: James 1:5 - "If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask
God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it
will be given to him." (NIV)
Embrace Change: If you want something to change in your life,
you need to change. Everything starts with you. Success and
growth requires some sort of change. Without change there will
not be any growth, and this includes financial growth. In other
to thrive in life, you have to learn to embrace and manage
expected and unexpected changes. Live is ever changing and we
can't change that, but we can change the effect of change on our
lives, so that it works for our benefit. Make conscious effort
to control the flow of change in your life, by seeing it as a
new beginning. So that change doesn't hold you captive.
Self Image: Self-image is the mental picture we have about
ourselves, which operates continuously at the back of our mind.
It is the way we see ourselves, due to our past experiences and
our assumptions about life. This is not necessarily the truth.
You need to update your self image to one that is successful.
Improve your self image, by starting to see yourself as a winner
God made you to be. Your self image controls the way you live
your life and the decision you make your ability. It can propel
you forward or it can hold you back, depending on how you see
yourself. You can accomplish anything you set your mind to, but
if you constantly tell yourself that you are unable to do
something, you never will. "Whether you think you can or whether
you think you can't, you're right." --Henry Ford. Proverbs 23:7
- "For as he thinks in his heart, so is he." (NKJV)
Re-invent yourself: If anything is not working in your life,
always choose to start again. From today, start looking at your
life with a different set of lenses. Start looking at your
circumstances in a different way. Take a look at your life and
think, how can I turn things round? To re-invent yourself, you
may need to update your habits, skills, image, communication
skills, personal branding, thinking, but this will take you to a
whole new level, and it will be well worth it. You can make this
shift gradually and not all at once. You can't stay the way you
are, and miss out on the opportunity of becoming successful.
Successful people are never the most talented, but they are more
prepared.
Focus on your strengths: Do everything to improve your weakness,
but focus on your strength. Find and use your unique strength to
solve unique problems. This will lead to your success and
position you as an expert. There is something unique about you,
don't apologize about it, and try to be like anyone else.
Magnify it and be proud of it. Everyone is unique, but the world
is always trying to put us in a box of limitation, and pretend
that we're just like everyone else. Find what makes is you
different, and celebrate it. When you operate in your strength,
you will discover your greatness
