History Of Saint RAPHAEL The Archangel
Raphael means “God heals.” This identity came about because of the
biblical story which claims that he "healed" the earth when it was
defiled by the sins of the fallen angels in the apocryphal book of
Enoch. Saint Raphael the Archangel is also identified as the angel who moved the waters of
the healing sheep pool. Saint Raphael the Archangel heals physical, emotional and spiritual
problems, and is sometimes known as the “divine physician.” Raphael is
credited with the healing of our beloved Earth and all of her
inhabitants. He begins with purifying our minds and erasing false
beliefs. All healing facilities and practitioners (both traditional and
alternative) are guided and helped by Raphael. Your call upon Raphael
the Archangel invokes his presence to clear blocks within the energy body so
that the flow of universal life-force energy can heal both the cause of
the block and its physical manifestation. Health and vitality are your
natural state of being. Your symptoms give clues to help you find causes
of imbalance. Ask Saint Raphael the Archangel to guide you with clarity and love in your
process of healing and feel free to invoke him for the healing of others
as well.
Saint
Raphael the Archangel usually intervenes when people are wounded or in pain, and some
say he still visits hospitals, ministering to the sick and injured. He
also comforts those in spiritual pain or in wrenching emotional ordeals.
He has been called the "Angel of the Sun" because of his ability to
rekindle the spark of life in sick bodies. And his reputation for
performing "medical miracles" has also earned him the title of the
"Angel of Science and Knowledge".
Raphael the Archangel is believed to have healed Abraham after his circumcision.
Saint Raphael the Archangel also healed Jacob when he dislocated his hip after wrestling
with an angel. Raphael is both a teacher and a healer. He taught Tobias
how to heal his father. He teaches us how to heal ourselves from the
self-inflicted wounds we create through our actions. He also heals the
wounds of all mankind and has been called the Guardian Angel of
Humanity. It is likely that Saint Raphael was the angel who entered the pool
at Bethesda. The first person to enter the water at this famous healing
center after the angel had disturbed it was instantly cured of whatever
disease he had (John 5:2-4).
Saint Raphael is one of seven Archangels who stand before the throne of
the Lord. He was sent by God to help Tobit, Tobiah and Sarah. At the
time, Tobit was blind and Tobiah's betrothed, Sarah, had had seven
bridegrooms perish on the night of their weddings. Raphael accompanied
Tobiah into Media disguised as a man named Azariah. Raphael helped him
through his difficulties and taught him how to safely enter marriage
with Sarah. Tobiah said that Saint Raphael caused him to have his wife and
that he gave joy to Sarah's parents for driving out the evil spirit in
her. He also gave Raphael the Archangel credit for his father's seeing the light of
heaven and for receiving all good things through his intercession.
Besides Raphael, Michael and Gabriel are the only Archangels mentioned
by name in the bible.
Raphael the Archangel manages the Virtues order of angels. He is affectionately known
for his powers of healing and for saving people from danger. Because of
his knack for rescuing those in unfamiliar territory or dire straits, he
is also said to protect travelers.
Saint Raphael is also the patron of the blind, of happy meetings, of nurses, of
physicians and of travelers. Saint Raphael's loving personality outshines his
physical characteristics; he is often described as being friendly,
amusing, gentle and kind. These qualities also make him the Archangel
best suited to overseeing the host of guardian angels.
